After obtaining a degree in Chemistry at Colorado State University, he moved to Perth, Western Australia to explore possibilities in the mining industry. There he worked as a laboratory manager for a geochemical laboratory, but his interest in handmade jewelry led him to create a small jewelry business in Western Australia. Over the years, the initial jewelry store expanded into five art and craft stores, providing a wide range of art and craft supplies as well as handmade items for sale. After 12 years in Australia he returned to America and got a job with the U.S. Geological Survey. My interest in geology and crafts led me to pursue my dream of creating fine jewelry in gold and silver.
